Lecturing at Hong Kong

On November 11, 2025 Dr. Markus Brem was lecturing at the School of Accounting & Finance at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

One of the seminars he presented at was a so called „brown bag seminar“.

These types of seminars are typically informal events where faculty, students, or guest speakers present research or academic findings. Participants often bring their lunch (“brown bag”) and discuss ideas in a relaxed setting.

The title of the presentation was „Sustainable Transfer Pricing New Ideas on Cross-border Income Allocation between Related Parties“.

The agenda included the main topics „Transfer Pricing Today“, „Costs of Compliance“, and „Where to Head for with Sustainable Transfer Pricing“.

Furthermore, Dr. Markus Brem gave a Guest Lecture about “Transfer Pricing on Intercompany Services” including the following topics:

  • Growth models of multinationals with local JV-partners –especially mid-sized groups
  • Related-party units pursue own business model
  • Different profit centers (segments) within that entity
  • Stress on arm‘s length character
